Deb Normand calls herself the CCO -- that's chief cookie officer. When she retired from her job of 30 years, Normand began baking for a cause. She began working with a shelter in Romania named The Deborah House that takes in orphaned girls. All the profits from her cookies go to provide clothing and basic necessities. She's even traveled to Romania many times to visit the girls.
The girls in the shelter are even learning the art of baking as a new trade. They've started baking and selling cookies locally. "If I had a lifetime dream, it would be to start a bakery over there that the girls could actually run," she said.
Proceeds from the purchase of Debhouse products benefit The Deborah House, founded in 20002 in Romania. The organization serves as a safe-haven for girls who have been rescued from abusive homes. This ministry is not about building a new house or renovating an old one, but rather to provide a stable, nurturing and loving environment for the rescued girls. Your purchase supports our commitment to satisfy the most basic needs of the girls by providing food, clothing, eduction and security.
We believe Deborah House is about investing in people. Your support is greatly appreciated!
